0 To brush or not to brush? Why?

When women start taking better care of their hair they begin to throw out a lot of products they thought were healthy or beneficial and the brush is usually one of the things to go... But why?

There are many differing reasons why some women ditch the brush, here are some:

*Causes split ends
*Breaks the hair off
*Pulls out the temple area and edges (weakest part for many people)

For me, brushing seemed to thin my edges. How do I know this? When I stopped brushing my hair, particularly my edges, my hair became thicker in that area. Even after I went natural my edges were still a bit thin. Also, brushing seemed to break off my edges, leaving me with edges only an inch or so long. I was using nylon brushes which are known to be harsher than boar bristle brushes and would brush my edges down daily.

A great alternative to brushes is to use a toothbrush or a small tooth comb and gently brush/comb the hair down, apply gel/water/etc. and then tie the hair down with a scarf to smooth down and allow the gel to set.

If you are experiencing thinning edges, try this method and see if it helps!
