What I have found:
"Benefits:
Molasses - contains natural sulfur/sulphur which is a mild natural fungicide, that rehydrates & detoxifies cell fibers by allowing water & nutrients into the cells & toxins to flow out. Sulphur is one of the key building blocks for healthy hair growth. A lack of sulphur may weaken the skin cells causing irregular sebum activity on the surface of the scalp." [SOURCE]
I can say the above is absolutely true in my experience with molasses.
My usual recipe:
- 1-2 tablespoons molasses
- 1/4 cup conditioner OR deep conditioner
- 1-2 tablespoons honey
You can use this mixture before shampooing on dry hair or you can use this mixture after shampooing and before conditioning. Personally, I find that applying this mixture before shampooing yields the best results on my hair.
I always use this after protective styling or when I have breakage. It always strengthens my hair and leaves it soft and healthy.
Try it and see if you like it!!!
