Thanks to Elle of "Quest For The Perfect Curl" I have finally been able to get a nice, defined "wash & go".
A "wash & go" is suppose to be where you wash or wet your hair in the shower, dry it and leave the house or go. For me and many of other naturals, it's not that simple. Inbetween, the wash and go part we usually have to moisturize, condition, and set our hair.
To get a great "wash and go" I have learned that technique and moisture are the keys to a great defined "wash and go" . Proper moisture for me, helps reduce shrinkage. This new technique keeps my hair moisturized, reduces tangles and defines my curls. A great technique also helps your have save time, this whole routine takes me about 15-20 mins. from shower to set.
How you wash and dry your hair also plays a role in reducing frizz. I use the technique mentioned, in my post about honey {hair sandwich}. You can replace the honey with conditioner and shampoo, just don't tangle up the hair; let the water do the work.
Now for my Wash And Go Tutorial:
1. Section hair in 2-4 sections (you can do more if your hair is short).
2.Spray a leave-in conditioner on each section and smooth that into hair. {sandwich technique pictured below}
3. Apply sealant to each section. If you're doing this after a co-wash, you may need to apply less product than someone who washed their hair due to the leftover product that may be in your hair already.
Below, is the amount of product I used after a co-wash {conditioner wash} on each section. Use the same sandwich technique above to make sure the product is evenly distributed and keep curls smooth.
4. Let hair my airdry a bit. You can let your hair completely dry or get it about 85%. You can let it dry in sections or all out.
5. Since I do this at night, I place all my hair in a pineapple overnight once my hair is dry enough. {Yes, I look absolutely ridiculous walking around like this...you will too.}

6. Take pineapple down and style hair. This is how my hair looks right out of the pineapple.
Wild!
7. After some shaping and breakfast. My hair looks nice gorgeous!
The above picture is of a wash and go after a co-wash with honey.
This style lasts me about 2 days before I need to reapply some moisture to it. The longer wear I wear my wash & go, the more my curls, coil up and my hair gets big and shrinks a bit (hard to explain that one...).
Do you get nice wash & gos? What products do you use? Share your tips in the comments!
