0 Blog hops and Link ups...my thoughts

Sigh.

Today was the first day I entered my blog into blog hops and link ups. For those who may not know what those are, they are opportunities for you to gain followers to your blog, facebook or twitter. You follow someone and they follow you back, simple right? Well, after I started doing it I began to wonder if this was me... I am not one to get deep on things, I'm really not but, I want to do this blog right. I know it has potential to be amzaing if I play my cards right. I want this blog to become what I want it to become; I have a purpose.


Well, as I was "liking" and "following" blogs and Facebooks, I began to feel uneasy. I was following people just so they could follow me back. I went to some of the blogs and although the content was nice, they weren't blogs I would really care to read about on a daily basis through GFC (google friend connect). I am sure others were doing the same; not really caring about the blog itself they were following but, moreso the follow back to boost their page rankings. 


This doesn't feel right to me. I want people to follow me because they like my blog. I want people to "Like" me on FB because they want to read what I have to say and I want to do the same for them. I have no problem with someone thinking my blog isn't their cup of tea, great, move on to the next one. I would much rather have 3 followers who love what I write than 100 followers who couldn't care less.


I didn't get much followers or "Likes" and I am actually glad. I want to get people to my blog the old fashion way, I suppose. I think I will continue to blog hop but, I will only be following blogs I genuinely want to read and have an interest in. I will be sticking to blogs similar to mine so I can learn and grow. I guess this is a lesson learned for me. I don't want to be "just any old blog"...


Just a few thoughts rumbling around in my head....
